Spring is Coming

It's really lovely here in Florida with temperatures in the 80s and cool nights invite us to sit around the fire in the evenings.  For those of you still buried in snow...hang in there, spring is coming!

I always think of crocuses poking out of the snow when I think of spring approaching.  I don't miss those snowy days but I still go there in my mind.

When I began designing a block for the theme, "Flowers" for Quilt Block Mania, I knew I wanted to work with purple and somehow come up with crocuses.  I have also tried to stay away from making all of my blocks applique so this became a challenge.  I think I did ok! 

When it came time to make my block, I had fun literally digging through my scrap bags and pulling out funny little pieces to work with.
